    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling control device for vehicle which can surely stop a vehicle at a temporary-stop spot, without impairing feeling of operation.
      SOLUTION: A navigation device 11 detects a distance to a nearest temporary-stop spot in the proceeding direction, based on the present position of a vehicle and its proceeding direction. A brake switch 13 generates an on/off signal, depending on the presence or the absence of braking operation by a driver. An ECU 16 decides whether the vehicle can stop at the temporary-stop spot based on the speed of the vehicle, its reduced speed and the distance to the temporary-stop spot. Then, the ECU 16 drives controllably a speed-reducing device 14 to make the speed of the vehicle decreased, when it decides that the driver executes braking operation and the vehicle cannot stop at the temporary-stop spot.

Then, when an obstacle exists in the estimated traveling trajectory, and the object exists on the traveling path, it is decided that a significant danger is generated in the vehicle compared with the case in which an obstacle exists in the traveling path, while no obstacle exist in the estimated traveling trajectory.
