摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the low-temp. activity and selectivity of a catalyst by carrying Ni and at least one of Co and Pt as catalytic metals on a silica carrier. SOLUTION: Catalytic metals are carried on porous silica as a carrier and Ni and at least one of Co and Pt are used as the catalytic metals. One of three combinations of Ni-Pt, Ni-Co and Ni-Pt-Co may be adopted, relatively high low-temp. activity is ensured by any of the combinations and selectivity to synthesis gas consisting of H2 and CO can be considerably improved. In the case of the combination of Ni-Pt, Ni and Pt are used by 2-8wt.% each based on the total amt. of the resultant catalyst and the weight ratio of Pt:Ni is regulated to 1:4 to 3:2.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of heat energy transport by decomposing an alcohol by heat energy, transporting a decomposed product by pressurizing mechanism of a hydrogen storage alloy and releasing heat energy generated by again synthesizing an alcohol of the decomposed product. CONSTITUTION:Methanol is decomposed by heating in the existence of catalyst, the decomposed product is cooled, condensed, and then an airtight vessel 1 is charged with hydrogen and hydrogen storage alloy so as to be transported to a boosting device 8 where a piston is attached. Next, the boosting device is heated for boosting and the resulting decomposed product is transported to an alcohol synthesizing part 1. Next, the decomposed product is heated, boosted by a motor-driven booster, and then introduced to the alcohol synthesizing part 1 together with hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methanol recovered by cooling, condensing and gas-liquid separation. The alcohol is synthesized by heating in the existence of catalyst. By the synthesization the generated heat can be recovered as heat energy.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance NOx reducing performance in the presence of moisture and oxygen by fixing gold on a specified metal oxide. CONSTITUTION:Gold is fixed on at least one kind of metal oxide selected from among aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, zinc oxide and magnesium oxide. The gold used is preferably fine particles having about =1nm. The amt. of the gold used is about 0.01-20wt.% of the total amt. of the gold and metal oxide. When the resultant catalyst is used, superior NOx reducing action can be exhibited in a relatively low temp. range of 100-500 deg.C even in the presence of oxygen and moisture and the discharge of NOx from the system can be practically prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a highly active catalyst without requiring complicated operation for ultra-fine pulverization even when gold is used as an active seed by using a support coated with gold or a fine gold particle as a carrier and supporting transition metal oxide on the surface of the carrier in a dispersed state. CONSTITUTION:As a carrier supporting metal oxide, a fine gold particle or a support coated with gold is used. A soluble or insoluble compound of gold is dissolved or dispersed in water as a gold precursor and a soluble salt of a transition metal component to be supported is added to this aqueous solution or dispersion. The aqueous solution or dispersion is evaporated and the evaporation residue is baked in air. By this operation, the soluble or insoluble compound of gold is changed to a stable metal state and the hydroxide or water-soluble salt of the transition metal component supported on the surface of the gold particle or the gold coated support is changed to an oxide form. By this method, a gold-oxide composite is obtained without ultra-finely dividing gold and extremely useful as a catalyst having high catalytic activity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To detect an inflammable gas by the use of photo-signals by utilizing the change in the light absorptivity corresponding to the concentration of the gas of a specific metal oxide. CONSTITUTION:The light absorptivity of an oxide of Cr, Mn, Fe, Ao, Ni or Ru is changed through contact with an inflammable gas in the presence of oxygen. The reason is that, in the case of cobalt oxide, for example, oxygen removes electrons from the cobalt oxide when the surface of the cobalt oxide is in contact with the air, and the removed electrons are absorbed to the surface of the cobalt oxide as oxygen cathode ions. If an inflammable gas is mixed in the air at this time, the absorbed oxygen cathode ions react wit the inflammable gas, thereby oxidizing the inflammable gas and returning the electrons from the oxygen cathode ions to the oxide cobalt. Therefore, when the concentration of the inflammable gas is high, the density of electrons in the cobalt oxide becomes high, whereas, if the concentration of the inflammable gas is low, the density of electrons is decreased. Since the light absorptivity of the cobalt oxide is changed by the density of electrons, it can be resumed that the cobalt oxide shows the change of light absorptivity corresponding to the change of the concentration of the inflammable gas.

Then, the obtained titanium-containing silicate with the gold hydroxide stuck is heated to a prescribed temperature to precipitate and fix ultra fine gold particle on the titanium-containing silicate. The addition amount of the titanium-containing silicate to water is not specificially limited. As the gold compound to be used in the aqueous solution state, water-soluble gold salt such as chloroauric acid (HAuCl4 ), sodium tetrachloroacurate (NaAuCl4 ), gold cyanide (AuCN) or the like can be mentioned as example. In order to adjust the pH of a suspension or a dispersion of titanium-containing silicate within a prescribed range, an alkali compound such as sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide or the like is used.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the sensitivity of a sensor by building a gas detection part in which a metal filament wound on a support is covered with a catalyst burning layer and a temperature compensation part in which a metal filament is wound on another support in branch sides of a Wheatstone bridge circuit. SOLUTION: The sensor is provided with a gas detection part and a temperature compensation part which are built in branch sides of a Wheatstone bridge circuit. The gas detection part is composed of a metal filament 1 which is wound on a first support 2 as a thermal gad conductor and of a catalyst burning layer 3 which covers it, and gold is carried by ferric oxide in the burning layer 3. The temperature compensation part is composed of a metal filament which is wound on a second support as a bad thermal conductor or of ferric oxide which covers a metal filament, and a loss by the first support 2 and the second support 3 as the bad thermal conductors due to heat generated at the gas detection part is small. In addition, the wire diameter of the filament 1 is made slender, a bridge-circuit-applied voltage is made small, and the sensor is operated at a temperature near room temperature. Then, the change in the zero point is suppressed, and noise can be reduced. In this manner, the sensor of high sensitivity is obtained.
