    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous operation of indoor temperature detecting means malfunction by deciding the malfunction of the detecting means if the state that the output of the detecting means is a set temperature or higher is continued for a set time by detecting the output of the detecting means. SOLUTION: As the operation is started, indoor temperature is detected by indoor temperature detecting means 101, and compared with a set temperature previously set to a set temperature memory means 102 by temperature comparing means 103. If the detected indoor temperature is higher than the set temperature or the same, counting of the counting means 104 is advanced. Then, whether or not the counting time arrives at the set time stored in set time memory means 105 is decided by time deciding means 106. If the counting time is the set time or more or equal, malfunction deciding means 107 decides that the means 101 has malfunction. Thus, the erroneous operation of the malfunction of the means 101 can be prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device for an air conditioner in which a user can change easily an ID code added to a remote controlling signal and its striking against a signal of another device can be avoided. SOLUTION: A remote controlling device 6 for use in remote controlling an air conditioner is provided with an ID code changing means 5. A control section 2 inverses the lower-most 1 bit of the present ID code stored in an ID code memory means 4 by an ID code changing means 5 in correspondence with an ID code changing request input of a user at an operating section 1, updates and stores the ID code in an ID code memory means 4 and at the same time the control section also transmits it to the air conditioner through a transmission section 3 and controls to update the ID code at the air conditioner. This variation includes a changing-over to inverse 1 bit at the bit position corresponding to the changing-over request operation, a changing-over for inverting an order of bits, a changing-over a complementary number and a changing-over to add a specified value or the like.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent mist from blowing out in an indoor unit and condensation from being produced on an indoor side fan by judging a fact that operation time detected by operation time detection means reaches a set time previously set by a set time memory means, and altering a set value of operation frequency of a compressor in response to a judgement output for operation of the compressor. SOLUTION: When cooling operation is started, operation time is detected by an operation time detection means 101, and detected operation time and set time previously set in a set time memory means 102 are compared with a comparator means 103. The operation is repeated. A set value of operation frequency of a compressor 106 is altered by operation frequency set value output means 104 in response to an output of the comparator means, and a compressor driver circuit 105 is controlled with an output of the alteration to drive the operation of the compressor 106. Hereby, mist is prevented from blowing out in an indoor unit, and condensation on an indoor side fan is prevented from being produced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the power-saving operation of an air conditioner while maintaining comfortable property by a method wherein at least one time of changing of a control temperature into a direction, approached to and separated from an outside temperature, is effected when a predetermined time is elapsed after an indoor temperature within a predetermined temperature range is obtained. SOLUTION: When a control temperature, set in temperature fluctuation treatment with respect to a set temperature, is raised stepwisely to a predetermined temperature Δt1 and, thereafter, a shifting treatment to reduce the control temperature to another predetermined temperature Δt2 is finished, the initial control temperature in the fluctuation treatment equal to a final control temperature in the shifting treatment is raised stepwisely. When an outside temperature is about 30 deg.C and a set temperature is not higher than about 24 deg.C, the control temperature is raised by about 0.5 deg.C and about 0.75 deg.C than a set temperature during initial about ten minutes and a succeeding about 2.5 minutes, then, the control temperature is raised about 1.0 deg.C and about 1.25 deg.C during subsequent about 17.5 minutes and succeeding about 2.5 minutes while the control temperature is raised by about 1.5 deg.C during the final about 17.5 minutes, however, a temperature change Δt3 in the total sum of the fluctuation treatment in this case is 1.0 deg.C.
