摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption at standby in an air conditioner with a remote controller.SOLUTION: The air conditioner which is remotely operable by the remote controller includes a signal receiving circuit which receives a carrier signal transmitted from the remote controller, and an operation processing part which operation-processes the carrier signal. The operation processing part has a clock frequency switching unit, and switches a mode of an operation clock of the operation processing part to a low-speed mode at which a frequency of the operation clock of the operation processing part is reduced to a frequency not higher than that of an operation clock at normal operation, and the carrier signal becomes unreadable.

摘要： The invention provides an air conditioner which is capable of detecting a position of a remote controller with low cost. When an indoor machine microcomputer (22) receives a request signal of detecting the position, the microcomputer orderly sends a position distinguishing signal (e) with strong emitting intensity, the position distinguishing signal (f)with mild emitting intensity, the position distinguishing signal (g) with weak emitting intensity and the position distinguishing signal (h) with faint emitting intensity from indoor infrared light emitting diodes (32, 33, 34) according to the request signal of detecting the position; when the microcomputer of the remote controller receives the position distinguishing signals, the microcomputer distinguishes to receive which signal in the signals with strong, mild, weak and faint emitting intensity according to the received position distinguishing signal, and sends a position result signal as the distinguishing result to the indoor machine (2); and when the indoor machine microcomputer (22) receives the position result signal, the microcomputer detects a distance of the remote controller according to the received position result signal.
