摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure excellent bookbinding quality level and simultaneously, effective bookbinding process, when making a bookbinding by binding together a cover sheet and a batch of intermediate paper sheets to which an adhesive is applied. SOLUTION: The bookbinding device includes a control means which performs a bookbinding process by transferring the batch of sheets to an adhesive applying position, a cover binding position and a cutting position in that order, and also, a finish mode setting means and a standby time setting means for setting a standby time for the batch of sheets. The finish mode setting means is constituted in the way that either of a cutting finish mode to use the cutting means and cut and put in order the edges of the batch of sheets bound together with the cover, using a cover binding means, or a non-cutting finish mode to convey to a stacker the batch of sheets bound together with the cover by the cover binding means, without cutting and putting in order the edges of the batch of sheets, is selectively executed. Further, the standby time setting means is constituted in the way that the standby time during executing the cutting finish mode is set longer than the standby time during executing the non-cutting finish mode. Then, the control means controls so as to transfer the batch of sheets to the downstream side after the lapse of the standby time which is set by the standby time setting means.
