    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement direction switching device capable of making an object move selectively in mutually different two directions by a single driving source by a more simple configuration.SOLUTION: A second guide 12 has a longitudinal groove 25 for moving in the back and forth direction of a vehicle and a transverse groove 26 for moving in the width direction of the vehicle. A first guide has a vertical projection 23 engaged with the longitudinal groove 25, and a transverse projection 24 engaged with the transverse groove 26. As the first guide switches a state that the longitudinal groove 25 is in engagement with the vertical projection 23 and a state that the transverse groove 26 is in engagement with the transverse projection 24, a driving force of a motor is selectively converted to movement in the back and forth direction of the vehicle or movement in the width direction of the vehicle of the second guide 12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing support mechanism having such a simple construction as can be arranged rotatably on the rotation center of a rotor and can open and close the rotor by an operational force as low as possible.SOLUTION: An opening/closing support mechanism comprises: a casing (or a case 10) fixed on a rotor (or a back door); a rotating shaft 3 accommodated in the casing and having two ends supported rotatably and at least one end connected to a body (or a vehicle body); a cylindrical cam 4 made rotatable integrally with the rotating shaft and having a helical cam groove in the outer circumference; a slider 5 having a pin fitted in the cam groove and supported axially movably but unrotatably with respect to the rotating shaft in the casing; and a biasing member (or a compression coil spring 6) for supporting the slider in the casing in a manner to bias the same in the axial direction of the rotating shaft. Thus, the axial pushing force at the time when the pin of the slider is moved by the biasing member along the cam groove of the cylindrical cam is converted into the rotating force of the rotating shaft.
