SOLUTION: In the ink fountain, a plurality of movable fitting pedestrals 21 are fitted to the upper surface 14a of an ink fountain base 14 in the way that the pedestrals 21 are displaceable independently of each other. In addition, each locally contacting ink fountain roller displacement sensor member 25, is fitted, to the outer peripheral surface 13a of the ink fountain roller 13, to each movable fitting pedestral 21. A flat head spring 24 which always urges an apex bevelled edge e2 of the ink fountain roller displacement sensor member 25, so as to elastically press the apex bevelled edge e2 to the outer peripheral surface 13a of the ink fountain roller 13, is arranged between the ink fountain base 14 and each movable fitting pedestral 21. Besides, a blade 28 is fitted through a second support shaft 27 on each movable fitting pedestral 21, and between the ink fountain base 14 and each blade 28, a blade 28 gap adjustment mechanism 34 for adjusting each gap G between the apex edge of each blade 28 and the outer peripheral surface 13a of the ink fountain roller 13 is provided.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade regulating unit of an ink fountain for a printer capable of suitably regulating a gap between a fountain roller and a blade and easily executing inspection and maintenance works. SOLUTION: The blade regulating unit of the ink fountain for the printer comprises the blade 17 having a base end mounting part 17a, a leaf spring 17b and a blade 17c and mounted at a fountain base 15 so as to block an ink feeding port 14 formed of a bottom plate 11a of the fountain and the fountain roller 12. A front edge of the plate 11a has a sealing surface S1 of the ink in a direction crossing with the plate 11a. The blade 17c has a sealing surface S2 opposed to the surface S1 via an infinitesimal gap on a back surface thereof. Thus, a lower surface of the part 17c is pressed by a cam member 20 to retractably move the part 17c to regulate the gap G.

A push-pull rod 26 is reciprocatedly penetrated through the fountain base 14, bringing the tip end part of the push-pull rod 26 into contact with the lower surface 21j of the blade element 21b. A fixing block 29 is fixed to the rear end part of the fountain base 14 via an elastic support plate 27, an adjusting lever 31 is rotatably supported to the fixing block 29 with a support shaft 32, and the cam 31b of the adjusting lever 31 is brought into contact with the base end surface of the push-pull rod 26. When the operation part 31c of the adjusting lever 31 is rotated, the push-pull rod 26 is pressed with the cam surface 31d of the cam 31b, adjusting the position of the blade 21 to adjust the gas G.

SOLUTION: A blade 21 is integrally formed of an elastic sheet material and a number of blade elements 21b are formed by slits 21c. Each of the blade elements 21b is integrally connected with a base end connecting part 21d through a hinge part 21e. In the above described slits 21c, sheet-like seal parts 24a of seal members 24 are inserted and fitting parts 24b are clamped and fixed on a blade elements 21b by means of bolts 25. As each blade element 21b is integrally connected by the base end connecting part 21b, one is enough for the number of the part and as the seal members of the slits 21c are formed of the sheet material, durability can be improved and reliability of action can be improved in comparison with sealing agents being plastically deformed such as resins and rubbers.
