    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a construction method of an upper part of a widening tunnel between parallel tunnels, in which connection segments are assembled while excavating the widening tunnel by using a widening shield machine having a simple structure and capable of rapidly excavating; and the widening shield machine used for this method.SOLUTION: A construction method of an upper part of a widening tunnel includes steps of: excavating by a widening shield machine installed between upper parts of parallel tunnels, removing upper segments of each of the parallel tunnels below the widening shield machine, and assembling and erecting connection segments between residual segments left after removal; and performing excavation by the widening shield machine while excavating natural ground in a lower part of the excavation. The widening shield machine used for this method includes an excavation part consisting of an upper plate with a front part formed into a substantially arc shape and a lower plate shaped along the upper part of the parallel tunnels, and excavates the upper natural ground of the parallel tunnels by a plurality of jacks in the upper plate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield for an approach-cum-road tunnel, and a method of constructing a section from an approach tunnel to a road tunnel of a main lane. SOLUTION: The shield for the approach-cum-road tunnel functions to convert a horizontally long approach shield into a road tunnel shield of a circular shape, a horseshoe shape, or an inverted horseshoe shape. The approach shield is formed of: a left portion left inside the approach tunnel; a removed portion forming an upper or a lower portion of the same and to be removed; and a converted portion to be converted into the road tunnel shield. Then a newly produced potion of the road tunnel shield is combined with the convertible portion, and thus the approach shield is converted into the road tunnel shield. When the tunnel is constructed the horizontally long approach shield is started from a shield starting shaft to form the approach tunnel, and part of the approach shield is converted into the road tunnel shield in a shield converting shaft or in a shield converting underground space, to thereby construct the road tunnel by the road tunnel shield.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a tunnel composition structure, which has a stable structural shape preventing local concentration of a cross-sectional force on completion, which can make the thickness of a member of a skeleton relatively small and which has a large underground space with no column, between a pair of tunnels provided at a predetermined interval.
      SOLUTION: This tunnel composition structure is formed in such a manner that first and second shield tunnels provided almost in parallel at the predetermined interval communicates with each other. In a prescribed place where both the shield tunnels face each other, a segment is removed, and a connecting-section skeleton is provided. The connecting-section skeleton comprises horizontal slab bodies which are elongated in upper and lower positions in the first shield tunnel, and an oval curved body which is elongated into the second shield tunnel from the upper and lower horizontal slab bodies. The connecting-section skeleton is formed by infilling concrete into a steel shell body, and a joint between the first shield tunnel and the oval curved body of the connecting-section skeleton is connected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widened part construction method of a tunnel and a structure of a tunnel widened part in which a widened part between parallel tunnels is constructed safely and in a short time and segments of the parallel tunnels and a widened segment forming a widened arch are joined firmly and safely.SOLUTION: In accordance with a widened part construction method of a tunnel, a preceding construction section and a following construction section are alternately installed between parallel tunnels to be widened in an axial direction of the tunnels. First of all, a widened segment is installed while removing segments of the parallel tunnels in the preceding construction section. Continuously, the following construction section remaining between the preceding construction sections is constructed similarly to the preceding construction section. In a structure of a tunnel widened part, while removing segments of the parallel tunnels, a widened arch bridging parallel segments with a radius larger than a curvature radius of the parallel tunnels is joined to a widening segment having unequal thickness in which a widened segment tip portion to be the widened arch is made as thick as the segments of the parallel tunnels and the thickness is then increased gradually in a tapered shape.
