摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain rare glycides from abundant glycides in high epimerization ratio under mild condition, by thermally reacting a glycide in a solution in the presence of a salt of a metal such as Ca, Sr, La, Ni, Ce, Co, Pr, Nd, Y, In, etc., and an amine (derivative). CONSTITUTION:A glycide is epimerized by carrying out thermal reaction of a glycide (e.g. aldohexose) in a solution at 20-100 deg.C in the presence of a salt of a metal such as Ca, Sr, La, Ni, Ce, Co, Pr, Nd, Y, In, etc., (e.g. calcium chloride) and an amine or an amine derivative of formula (R1, R2 and R3 are H, 1-18C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl or aryl-substituted alkyl) (e.g. diethylamine).

Furthermore, D-melibiose, D-gentiobiose, isomaltooligosaccharide, D-maltose, D-laminaribiose, etc., are preferably used as the reducing oligosaccharide.

CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble reactive resin comprising as an essential constituent a comonomer of general formula (I), wherein l is a positive integer, m is 0 or a positive integer, n is 2 or 3, and A is -O- or -NH-, is used as a water- resisting agent for a binder. The thermal recording material is produced by the usual coating method. The color former, the color developer and the binder are suitably used in respective amounts of 5-20%, 10-60% and 20-70% based on the weight of the color forming layer. The amount of the reactive resin is suitably 5-60wt% based on the amount of the PVA resin. The coating material is applied to the surface of a base by a known coating system, and the coating amount is ordinarily 2-10g/m on a dry basis.

Thereby the aimed aldose labeled C-2 is obtained. Furthermore, aldohexose, aldopentose, etc., are preferably used as the aldose.
