    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide parametric spatio-temporal alignment between image sequences. SOLUTION: A method for aligning a plurality of image sequences has a process for calculating space-time coordinate transformation which includes: a process for calculating an error in luminance change between both the image sequences in order to align one point in a space-time volume corresponding to one of the image sequences to one point in a space-time volume corresponding to another one of the image sequences; and a process for estimating the space-time coordinate transformation, based on the error in the luminance change. In the calculation process, the error in the luminance change at each space-time point is minimized by adding a product, which is obtained by multiplying an unknown spatial-temporal deviation between one image sequence and another image sequence in each space-time point by the gradient of luminance in each space-time point, to a difference in luminance between each space-time point in another image sequence and a space-time point corresponding to one image sequence. In the estimation process, the space-time coordinate transformation for restricting the whole unknown spatial-temporal deviation in each space-time point is estimated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soluble LDL receptor which is isolated from interferon-treated cells or by a recombinant DNA method and which is capable of protecting mammalian cells from viral infection, another soluble low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor, production methods therefor and to obtain pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same. SOLUTION: This soluble LDL receptor is produced by treating a human WISH cell with interferon and purifying it through a variety of chromatographic methods (including an affinity chromatography using an monoclonal antibody C7). A soluble LDL receptor comprising a DNA molecule encoding a soluble LDL receptor having an amino acid sequence practically corresponding to amino acid residue 4 to 292 of a mature LDL receptor is produced by culturing a cell line transformed by an expression vector. The soluble LDL receptor, muteins thereof, fused proteins, salts thereof, functional derivatives and active fractions thereof are used as active components of pharmaceutical compositions for protecting mammals from viral infection.
