    • PURPOSE:To plate polyester resin with high adhesion by successively bringing the resin into contact with a soln. contg. a sexivalent chromium compound and sulfuric acid and/or phosphoric acid and with an aqueous soln. of heterocyclic carbonate or a soln. of the carbonate in a solvent and by carrying out pretreatment and electroless plating as usual. CONSTITUTION:Polyester resin is brought into contact with a soln. contg. a sexivalent chromium compound and sulfuric acid and/or phosphoric acid, e.g., a soln. contg. 5-85g/l dichromate and 50-700ml/l sulfuric acid. The resin is further brought into contact with an aqueous soln. contg. 30-100g/l heterocyclic carbonate or a soln. of the carbonate in a solvent. Pretreatment and electroless plating are then carried out as usual.

    • PURPOSE: To decrease a deterioration in recording density and to prevent a corrosion of a magnetic film, blank material, etc. by forming directly a potective film on the magnetic film which is activated by using a weakly acidic W alkaline electroless plating liquid.
      CONSTITUTION: The magnetic film is first activated by a catalytic soln. The activation is executed by dipping the blank material on which the magnetic film is formed for 30secW10min into the catalytic soln. at 50W60°C. The catalytic soln. prepd. by adding about 1W20cc/l HCl (86%) according to need to a soln. of preferably 3W5g/l rhodium chloride in order to dissolve the catalytic material is used. The magnetic film is made active to the succeeding electroless rhodium plating or electroless ruthenium plating by dipping the blank material into such catalytic soln. The surface is thereby roughened and the adhesion of the plating film is improved. The magnetic film is then subjected to the electroless rhodium plating or electroless ruthenium plating as the protective film. The plating liquid adjusted to preferably about 8W12pH is used.
