    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to measure both the tool diameter and the tool length in a tool passing passage in tool changing action without moving a first measuring sensor to measure the tool diameter and a second measuring sensor to measure distance to a designated measuring position. SOLUTION: A next tool T2 in a tool pot 3 and a used tool T1 on a main shaft are grasped by a tool changing arm 5 to be pulled downward from the tool pot 3 and the main shaft 2. In the middle of it, distance L1 between the designated measuring position 5c of the tool changing arm 5 and the second measuring sensor 10 at a lower position when a tip of the next tool T2 is detected by the first measuring sensor 9 sideways of it is measured. The tool changing arm 5 is further moved downward, and distance L2 between the designated measuring position 5c of the tool changing arm 5 and the second measuring sensor 10 when a reference diameter do of a shank Toc of a tool holder of the next tool T2 is detected by the first measuring sensor 9 is measured. The tool length L is determined based on the distance L1 and the distance L2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broach guide jig for machining a key groove capable of preventing deviation when forming the key groove. SOLUTION: This broach guide jig 1 for machining the key groove forms the key groove extending in the length direction of a work W in the internal circumferential face of a cylindrical hole W1 of the work W. The outer circumferential face of the broach guide jig 1 is formed with a broad guide groove 2 extending in its length direction and two contact parts 6 and 7 similarly extending in the length direction and contacting with the internal circumferential face of the cylindrical hole W1 when forming the key groove, at equal-angle intervals in the circumference direction. A positioning key insertion groove 3 extending in the length direction is formed in a position separated by 180 deg. from the broach guide groove 2 in the circumferential direction in the outer circumferential face of the broach guide jig 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor unit and a numerical controller which can construct a system that has high reliability at a low cost. SOLUTION: A host controller 20 transmits an error confirmation numeric value RND generated by a random number generator 18 from a transmitting circuit 11 to a servo controller 13. In a rotary encoder 21, a sensor control computer 17 inputs position data detected by sensors 4, 5 and 6 and the error confirmation numeric value RND received by a receiving circuit 8 via the servo controller 13 to a function computing element 16. The sensor control computer 17 transmits an error confirmation code SED of the function computing element 16 together with position detection data with a transmitting circuit 9. The host controller 20 receives the position detection data transmitted from the rotary encoder 21 and the error confirmation code SED via the servo controller 13 with a receiving circuit 15. The received position data and error conformation numeric value RND are inputted to a function computing element 19. A host control computer 22 compares a receiving side operation value SEC of the function computing element 19 with the error confirmation code SED.
