    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fructose uptake inhibitor as a natural product-originated agent, capable of specifically inhibiting a systemic absorption (ingestion) of fructose, and in addition, capable of being applicable safely to various foods, medicines, and animal feedstuff, and being easy to intake.SOLUTION: The fructose uptake inhibitor contains hydrolyzable tannin as an active constituent. The hydrolyzable tannin is a gallic acid derivative and/or an ellagic acid derivative ester-linked with a hydroxyl group of glucose, which is an ellagitannin resulting from at least one or more hexahydrodiphenoil groups or valone oyl groups ester-linked with 2nd and 3rd places or 4th and 6th places or both thereof, or is a garotannin resulting from at least three or more places in the hydroxyl group of glucose ester-linked with the gallic acid.
