    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To verify insulation performance equivalent to insulating gas in atmosphere about a gas insulated apparatus.SOLUTION: In an insulation performance testing method or apparatus for testing insulation performance of a gas insulated apparatus configured by supporting a conductor part 3 of an electric apparatus by an insulating material 2 in a metallic container 1 and sealing insulating gas into the metallic container 1, a test voltage of a commercial frequency is applied to the conductor part 3 through a charging wire 20 in a state that the inside of the metallic container 1 is held in atmosphere, the test voltage is boosted to detect a discharge current flowing into the charging wire and the insulation performance of the gas insulated apparatus is tested based on the detected discharge current. Thus insulation performance equivalent to the insulating gas can be verified by a test voltage sufficiently lower than a voltage to be used for an insulation performance test to be performed by sealing insulating gas.

Lower end side surfaces of the isolators 20A and 20B are connected together which are arranged almost vertically by way of buffer parts 50A and 50B detachable to the opening parts 16A and 16B. Both the main buses 10A and 10B, the isolators 20A and 20B, and the buffer parts 50A and 50B are arranged in bilateral symmetry.
