摘要： PURPOSE: To compensate for a radiation magnetic field of a line deflection coil by a method in which a compensating coil system is provided with a core of magnetizable material, with two coils oppositely provided on the respective diameters of at least one turn. CONSTITUTION: A compensating coil system employs two compensating coils 11 and 12 having a soft magnetic core. The coils 11 and 12, respectively, are toroidally wound around only one ring-shaped core 13 of several turns lower than, for example, ten turns. Here, saddle-shaped compensating coils are utilized. The core 13 made of the same material as the ring-shaped core of the deflection unit, for example, MnZn ferrite is provided a distance of a few centimeters from the front of a deflection unit 8 having a line deflection coils 9a and 9b and a yoke 10 in order to minimize an influence on a line deflection magnetic field. Consequently, the core 13 is fixed so as not to be directly installed on a conductor portion positioned on the front side of the line deflection coils 9a and 9b.

CONSTITUTION:Superconductor is formed at the front 15a of a cathode-ray tube or its periphery 15b and sides 16. A light permeative superconductive material is used at the front 15a and the periphery 15b. When for ex. an external magnetic flux 17 is applied to the cathode-ray tube because of external speaker, terrestrial magnetism, etc., the external flux 17 can not intrude into the tube because the superconductor is formed at the front 15a or at the periphery 15b and sides 16. Thereby turbulence of the electron beam due to external flux is suppressed, and the screen is prevented from chromatic misconvergence and distortion.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a drop in color purity due to an external stray magnetic field by providing an external magnetic shield with a diagonal side extension part nearing and covering the diagonal part of a vacuum enclosure. CONSTITUTION:The diagonal part of an external magnetic shield 7 is provided with a diagonal side extension part 7c for connecting a long-side extension part 7a to a short side extension part 7b along the diagonal part of a panel part. And this diagonal side extension part 7c is provided with a notch 7d for passing a fitting member. When a magnetic field is applied in four orthogonal directions, the diagonal side extension part 7c of the external magnetic shield 7 becomes a passage for a line of magnetic force, because of the position thereof near the diagonal part of a color cathode-ray tube. And a magnetic flux flows toward the long side extension part 7a. Also, the notch 7d for passing the fitting member is formed at the diagonal side extension part 7c and, therefore, a leak magnetic flux is generated at the notch 7d. As the extension part 7c is so shaped as to be appropriate for a magnetic field passage, however, the aforesaid leak magnetic flux can be made extremely small, compared with a leak magnetic flux at the diagonal part of the external magnetic shield 7.

摘要： PURPOSE:To maintain the performance against the temperature drift, make a device lightweight and small-sized, and reduce the cost by using a mixed liquid of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol as a cooling liquid filled in a liquid-tight space. CONSTITUTION:A liquid-tight space 9 is formed with a projection tube 1, a spacer 2, a radiator 3 and a lens 4, and a cooling liquid 9a is filled to cool the projection tube 1. A mixed liquid of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol is used as the cooling liquid 9a. This cooling liquid has little permeation loss quantity, the vapor pressure is low, the inner pressure of the space 9 is low, thus the cooling liquid 9a can be brought into direct contact with the lens 4. The deterioration in lens performance due to the temperature drift dose not occur, a liquid with the refraction factor approximate to that of the lens 4 can be generated, the contrast is improved. The device is thereby made lightweight and small-sized, and the cost can be reduced.

This prevents influx of the dew water into the CRT socket and deflecting coil.

Misconvergence of the color CRT can be hence prevented from occurring.
