CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is constituted of a transmitting means A for sending out an ultrasonic wave with predetermined frequency, a receiving means B for receiving the reflected wave from a ball, a frequency deviation detection means C for detecting a signal having frequency equal to the frequency generated in the reflected wave, a wave form shaping means D forming the output of said means C into a pulse, a gate means E, a count means F for counting the pulse and a display means G and the period for opening the gate means E is set to a predetermined value so as to make the displayed value almost equal to the value showing the speed of the ball. By this method, an operation circuit for calculating the speed of the ball becomes unnecessary and, because circuit constitution becomes simple, a small-sized light and inexpensive apparatus is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To check to ensure the operation of an ultrasonic detector, by arranging an oscillator for oscillating a signal with the frequency near that of an ultrasonic wave to be transmitted from a Doppler type ultrasonic detector and a transmitter to transmit an ultrasonic wave as driven by the output of the oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The frequency (f) of an ultrasonic wave received with a receiver 3 after reflected on an object B gives f=fo+ or -fd. After the received signal is amplified with an amplification circuit 4, the frequency fo as the output of an oscillation circuit 1 is mixed with the output of the amplification circuit 4 with a mixer 5 to detect the frequency shift fd. The movement of an object B is detected with a signal processing circuit 6 utilizing that the higher the moving speed (v) of the object B is, the higher the frequency fd is. The signal processing circuit 6 is made up of, for example, an F/V converter and a comparator and when a reference voltage is exceeded, an alarm 7 is driven. So to speak, it is possible to check to ensure the operation of a Doppler type ultrasonic detector depending on whether the alarm 7 sounds or not when the receiver 3 receives a signal, the frequency of which varies by the frequency shift fd enough to operate the comparator.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an apparatus capable of measuring a snowfall amount and snow quality other than a snow fall accumulated amount by using an ultrasonic wave, by emitting first ultrasonic beam directed to the direction vertical to a road surface and second ultrasonic beam directed in parallel to the road surface. CONSTITUTION:First ultrasonic beam 20a directed to the direction vertical to a road surface 17 and second ultrasonic beams 20b, 20c directed in parallel to the road surface 17 are emitted from ultrasonic beam transmitter-receivers 21a, 21b, 21c. The reflected wave from a snow surface of the beam 20a is received by the transmitter-receiver 21a and a snow amount is calculated from a propagation time from transmission to reception and the scattered wave reflected upon the impact with snow particles while falling between the transmitter 21a and the snow surface 5 and having received Doppler shift is received to calculate the falling speed of snow particles on the basis of the frequency shift quantity from transmission frequency. Further, the beam 20b, 20c are received so as to provide a predetermined time interval and, by utilizing that this receiving level is in inverse proportion to the amount of snow present in the predetermined interval, the amount of snow per a unit volume is calculated and the reflected beam level from snow particles is compared with the receiving levels of the beams 20b, 20c to calculate snow quality.

    • PURPOSE:To provide only one ultrasonic vibrator to be used, by continuously transmitting an ultrasonic wave from an ultrasonic vibrator and detecting moving matter from the change in the amplitude of the current flowed to the ultrasonic vibrator. CONSTITUTION:When matter is moving, the magnitude and phase of the reflected wave R received by a vibrator 1 change and, as a result, the amplitudes of the signals generated at both terminals of a resistor 3 change corresponding to the movement of the matter. By this method, the detection signal corresponding to the change in the amplitudes of the signals generated at both terminals of the resistor 3 appears in the output of a detector 5 and amplified by a band amplifier 6 and, when the amplified output signal is compared with predetermined voltage by a comparator 7, the pulse line corresponding to the movement of the matter is outputted to an output terminal 8. By this method, the moving matter can be detected by using one ultrasonic vibrator.

CONSTITUTION:A supersonic Doppler radar 1 comprised a pulse generating circuit 11, a supersonic transmission sensor 12 driven by the output pulse thereof to generate the supersonic wave, a supersonic reception sensor 13 for receiving supersonic wave transmitted from said sensor 12 and reflected from a window glass and seat of an automobile, a mixing circuit 14 for mixing the output from said circuit 13 with the output of the generating circuit 11, a low pass filter 15 for extracting Doppler signal from the output of said circuit 14 and an amplifier 16 for amplifying the output of said filter 15. When a person moves, the Doppler signal appears in the output of the radar 1 and an alarm signal e is generated from an one shot multivibrator 24 in a signal processes section 2.
