    • PURPOSE:To obtain a suitable viscosity of a lubricating oil film in a main journal and in a crank pin by providing side by side both an oil passage from an oil pump to the main journal and another oil passage from the oil pump to the crank pin and further providing an oil cooler in the midst of the latter oil passage. CONSTITUTION:Oil passages 11 to 16, which supply the lubricating oil, which is sent by pressure from an oil pump 33, to a main journal 3 via a main gallery 10, and an oil passage 21, which supplies the lubricating oil to a crank pin 2 in the same manner as the above, are installed side by side. In addition, an oil cooler 36, which cools the lubricating oil, is installed in the midst of the oil passage 21. Thus, as for the main journal 3, since the lubricating oil which does not go through the oil cooler 36 is led, the viscosity of the lubricating oil film can be kept thin. Meanwhile, as for the crank pin 2, the lubricating oil, to which the heat is once given while it passes through sliding parts such as the main journal 3 is cooled by the oil cooler 36, and is supplied to. Accordingly, the viscosity of the film of the lubricating oil, which is led to the main journal 3 and to the crank pin 2, respectively, can be kept suitable.

    • PURPOSE:To make the amt. of the material to be removed from a material to be worked per unit time variable at the time of removing a specified amt. of the nitrided material from its surface by adjusting the flow velocity of a liq. chemical abrasive flowing along the surface. CONSTITUTION:When a brittle compd. layer (white layer) is removed from the surface of an oil hole 3 of the crankpin 2 of a nitrided crankshaft, a nozzle 10 consisting of the large-diameter base 12, step 14 and small-diameter part 15 is inserted into the hole 3 and positioned by seals 11 and 13. A liq. chemical abrasive consisting essentially of hydrofluoric acid is injected under pressure through the abrasive feed hole 16 of the nozzle 16, introduced into the hole 3 through a branch hole 17 and discharged from a discharge hole 18 to remove the compd. layer of the hole 3. At this time, the gap e1 between the outer diameter of the small-diameter part 15 and the inner diameter of the hole 3 is adjusted in relation to the gap e2 between the step 14 and the edge 8 of a C chamferred part 7 to vary the flow velocity of the abrasive, and the amt. of the compd. to be removed is easily adjusted.
