The first fuzzy inference unit 1 constitutes an excitation rate/drip quantity determining means and determines the excitation rate and drip quantity based on the set temperature by a set temperature input means 8 and the temperature measured by a thermistor 5, an excitation rate control means 2 controls the excitation rate, and a drip quantity control means 3 controls the drip quantity. The first fuzzy inference unit 1, excitation rate control means 2 and drip quantity control means 3 can be easily realized by microcomputers. The inference rule of the first fuzzy inference unit 1 is 'if the set temperature is high and the actual temperature is low, the excitation rate is made slightly large and the drip quantity is made slightly small', for example.

    • PURPOSE:To stop jets of steam automatically when an iron body tilts at more than a fixed angle by providing a valve unit to shut off water supply from a drip hole to an evaporating chamber when the iron body tilts at more than a fixed angle from approximately a level state. CONSTITUTION:When an iron body 1 is approximately in a level state at an angle not more than 20 degrees to the level, a valve disc 30 of valve unit 28 in a water passage 20 is removed from a valve seat 32 and a valve opening 31 is held open, causing water in a water tank 2 to be dropped through a water outlet 51, connecting port 23, notch part 24, water passage 20, valve opening 31 of the valve unit 28, and drip hole 25 one after another into an evaporating chamber 5. This water is evaporated into steam by heat of a base 3 and sent out from a jet orifice 6. On the other hand, in the course of ironing, when the iron body 1 is tilted at an angle more than 20 degrees to the level, the valve 30 of the valve unit 28 is traveled onto the valve seat 32 by its self-weight and stayed, and the valve opening 31 is closed. Thus, water supply from the water passage 20 to the evaporating chamber 5 is shut off, causing jets of steam to be stopped.

When the iron main body 1 is returned to the stand 16 during the ironing work, if the water in the tank 8 is the preset quantity or below, the water feeder 18 is driven. When a worker touches a grip section 14 to remove the iron main body 1 from the stand 16 during the water feeding, a detecting means 15 stops the drive of the water feeder 18. Water feeding is stopped before the iron main body 1 is separated from the conduit connection section of the stand 16, and a water leak from the connection section can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:Projecting sections 14a are provided on both sides of a sealing member 20 and projecting sections 18a formed on the lower surface of a tank 18 behind a drop nozzle 19 are provided at positions at which the sections 18a can come into contact with the sections 14a of a cover 14. Then, a clearance is formed between the cover 14 and the lower surface of a drop nozzle 19 and, at the same time, it is contrived that the sections 18a on the lower surface of the tank 18 can be separated from the sections 14a provided on the cover 14 when the nozzle 19 is positioned above the coupling point with the main body 21. Therefore, collision of the nozzle 19 with the cover 14 can be prevented when the tank 18 is mounted on and removed from the main body 21 and the cover 14 can be protected from being damaged.

CONSTITUTION:The entrance of a water path 17 is opened on the upper surface of a cover 14, faced to a nozzle section 19 opened at the bottom section of a removable tank 18, and coupled with the section 19 in a sealed state by means of a sealing member 20 so that the water in the tank 18 can be supplied to an evaporating chamber. The upper end of a pushing member 21 united as one body with the member 20 is protruding upward from the cover 14. When the tank 18 is mounted on an iron main body 23 by means of a tying device, the resiliency of the pushing member 21 pushed backward acts on the tank 18 in the direction in which the tank 18 is pushed forward. Therefore, the nozzle section 19 and sealing member 20 can surely be coupled with each other in a sealed state.

    • PURPOSE:To supply a consumable water quantity every break during ironing work and reduce the size and weight of an iron body by detecting the water quantity in the tank of the body, and driving a water feeding device at a water quantity less than a determined value to supply water to a regulated quantity. CONSTITUTION:When an iron body 10 is placed on a stand 23, water is sent to a tank 17 through an inlet port 18 by the water feeding device 27 in a storage tank 26. A water quantity detecting means 19 is provided with a photo coupler 19a, disposed in opposition to the regulated full-water position of the tank 17. When the water in the tank 17 is lower than a regulated quantity, as a ball 18b interrupt the light of LED of the photo coupler 19a, a control means 28 judges less water quantity, and a water feeding means 27 is driven for water supply. When the ball 19b is raised by the water supply and opposed to the photo coupler 19a to interrupt the light of LED, full water is detected to stop the drive of the water feeding device 27, whereby a determined quantity of water supply can be conducted.
