摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the lubricity and traveling durability of a magnetic recording medium as well as the traveling performance at high humidity by allowing a projection-shaped org. lubricant to be adsorbed on the surface of the ferromagnetic metallic thin film of the medium formed on the nonmagnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:The height of a projection-shaped org. lubricant fit for this invention is 30-1,000Angstrom , preferably 50-500Angstrom , more preferably 100-300Angstrom . In case of 1,000Angstrom height, envelope is liable to be disturbed. The density of the org. lubricant is >=1,000 pieces/mm. , preferably >=5,000 pieces/mm. . In case of density, traveling durability and stable traveling performance at high humidity are not provided. A compound having a polar group moiety which is adsorbed on a metallic thin film and a long chain alkyl group for improving the lubricity as a nonpolar moiety is suitable for use as the org. lubricant, and higher fatty acid, higher fatty acid ester, higher fatty acid amide, metallic salt of higher fatty acid, higher aliphatic alcohol or a mixture thereof is used.

摘要： NEW MATERIAL:A neopentylpolyol ester derived from neopentylpolyol and a mixed fatty acid consisting of a 8-12C branched saturated fatty acid and a 12-18C straight-chain saturated fatty acid wherein the weight ratio of branched acid/ straight-chain acid is 95/5-15/85. EXAMPLE:The ester of pentaerythritol and a mixed fatty acid consisting of 52wt% of 2-ethylhexanoic acid and 48wt% of lauric acid. USE:Flon-resistant oil. It has high flash point and excellent high-temperature chemical stability, and is not only hardly reactive with flon but also effective to stabilize the flon. Useful as a base oil of hydraulic oil in an oil-flon mixture system, and insulating oil, bearing oil, lubricating oil, etc. for an apparatus containing flon. PROCESS:The objective ester can be prepared by the conventional esterification reaction of neopentylpolyol with corresponding fatty acid mixture.
