    • PURPOSE:To improve performance and reduce slip on the soft ground by setting the arrangement and the projection shape of a lug so as to make each part of the lug assign the function of flotation and traction force. CONSTITUTION:Lugs 6a and 6b are overhung from the skid base 5 of a case body to an area R on both outside of the lateral width SW of the case body at an acute angle to a flat plane P including central periphery E in nearly equally spaced relation along the central periphery E alternately. A compression ranging from 55 to 75% is given to a tire, and a rate ranging from 8 to 25% is given to the rate of the height of the lugs in the central periphery E to SW, and the crossing angle of the top sections 7a and 7b of the lugs 6a and 6b to the flat plane P is made to gradually increase, and acute edges area are provided at the top section 7a and these front and rear faces. The flat plane P, obtuse and acute angle faces are used as a stamping face and kicking face, and the acute edge areas of both faces are made to gradually increase outside at angle ranging from 25 deg. to 50 deg. to the line of the top section 7a, and in the kicking face, an upright wall is extended at slight angle to the similar normal line. Therefore, excellent flotation performance and traction performance can be displayed on the soft ground such as rice, paddy fields.

    • PURPOSE:To embody low noise without the lowering of performance such as traction performance and wear resistance by specifying the shape and pitch arrangement of lug grooves at the left and right side parts of the tread. CONSTITUTION:Lug grooves 6 and lugs 7 are alternately disposed at the tread left side and right side with the equator l placed in between in the tread (m) of a tire. The fluctuation quantity by one round part of the tire is generated to the actual grounding length of a tire grounding front edge part under JIS standard air pressure and standard dual wheel load. This fluctuation quantity is the difference between the maximum value and minimum value by one round part of the tire. The lug grooves 6 and lugs 7 are therefore disposed in such a way that this fluctuation quantity is 0.25 or less in relation to the total grounding length of the tire grounding front edge part, under the same air pressure and load, of the same tire but smooth without lug grooves. Low noise can be thereby attained without having an adverse effect to the performance of the tire such as traction performance and wear resistance.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a pneumatic radial tire for which the operational stability can be improved in both cases of wet road surface and dry road surface. CONSTITUTION:A transverse main groove 14 is so constructed that one end area is terminated at the tread end area 16A on the inside of a vehicle (in the direction of an arrow IN) and opened, and the other end area is terminated at the tread end area 16B on the outside of the vehicle and opened. The width of the groove is gradually decreased toward the outside of the vehicle. The cross main groove 14 is inclined to the tire rotating direction kickout side (the opposite direction to the direction of an arrow D) with respect to the cross direction of the tire (direction of the arrow IN and the opposite direction to the direction of the arrow IN). During the turning driving of the vehicle on the dry road surface, the area on the outside of the vehicle where the width of the transverse main groove 14 is narrow and the grip force is increased is largely grounded so as to improve the operational stability. During the driving on the wet road surface, water is discharged through a circumferential main groove 18, a circumferential auxiliary groove 22 and the transverse main groove 14. As the width of the transverse main groove is gradually increased toward the downstream side of the flow of water (inside of the vehicle), the efficiency of discharged water is good.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a pneumatic tire which has such a tread pattern as allowing both reduction of tire noise and the wet hydroplaining property to coexist. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire is so constructed that a pair of side walls 2 and a crown part 3 extending over both side walls 2 are connected to each other like a toroid, the crown part 3 includes a tread 1 engaged with the road surface, and the tread 1 includes a circumferential groove 6 extended substantially in a straight line toward the circumferential direction in the side area thereof, plural lug grooves 9 extended from the tread side end 8 to the circumferential groove 6 and land parts 10 divided by a group of grooves. Further, a means 11 for at least obstructing a smooth flow of a fluid flowing in the lug grooves 9 at the time of running is provided comparatively close to the circumferential groove 6.
