    • PURPOSE:To improve the operation convenience in connection with the environ ment of an office by reducing the generating noise of the image forming device related to the environment noise measured by microphone at the standby before being transferred to copying operation. CONSTITUTION:The noise source at the standby of a copying machine 1 is an exhaust heat fan and polygon motor. The noise is discharged outside through an exhauster port 6. A microphone 5 arranged at the side of a paper feeding set 8 on the front of the copying machine 1 is located opposite to the exhauster port 6, and the environment noise at the standby of the copying machine 1 can be measured without being affected by the sound generated by the copying machine 1. When the environment noise is bigger than the reference noise set in advance to a comparison means in the copying machine 1, the rotation control of the polygon motor is not performed and when the environment noise is smaller than the reference noise, the rotation of the polygon motor is stopped. The rotation control of the polygon motor is released when an enter key 22 is operated before operating a copy start button.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the noise of a rotary body by the interference with the sound of which the phase is reverse to that of the noise of a rotary body such as a fan and having the same sound pressure as the noise emitted from a newly provided speaker. CONSTITUTION:The number of rotations of a cooling fan 2 is measured by a number-of-rotation detection circuit 55 to be inputted to a digital/analogue processor 50 (hereinbelow referred to as DSP) to operate the noise frequency of the fan in the DSP 50. This frequency is set to a reference signal and a signal reverse to fan noise in phase and having the same amplitude as the fan noise is formed by the digital filter and delay circuit in the DSP 50 and a control speaker 3 is sounded through a D/A converter 51 and a power amplifier 52. Next, the reduction effect of noise due to mutual interference is measured by an evaluation microphone 4 to be inputted to the DSP 50 through a microphone amplifier 54 and an A/D converter 53 and, by adapting the digital filter in the DSP 50 so as to reduce the noise from a microphone 4, the noise 2 of the fan 2 can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an impact dot printer reduced in noise and made excellent in paper discharge properties by providing a plurality of printing paper guide members in the direction crossing a plate-shape sound suppressing member partially changing the cross-sectional area of a printing paper discharge route on the way thereof at a right angle and making the interval between said guide members narrower than the width of printing paper. CONSTITUTION:Covers 1,2 covering a printing paper discharge part are provided to an impact dot printer 100 equipped with a print head 8 and a platen 6. A printing paper discharge route is formed between the covers 1, 2 and the printing paper discharge part 15 and the cross-sectional area of the route is partially changed on the way thereof. In this impact dot printer 100, a plurality of printing paper guide members 1d, 2d are provided in the direction crossing plate- shape sound suppressing members 1a, 2a partially changing the cross-sectional area of the printing paper discharge route on the way thereof at a right angle and the interval between said guide members is made narrower than the width of printing paper 4. As a result, the impact dot printer is reduced in noise and made excellent in paper discharge properties.
