摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cup core material for a ladies' garment, well fitting an upward rising portion at the underside of the breast, and simultaneously satisfying such contrary characteristics as shape retention based on rigidity and a fitting property based on elasticity, and a characteristic of shape recovery in deformation of the garment caused by external force during washing.
SOLUTION: The method comprises a process of punching out a specified-thickness steel board for a spring into a nearly semicircular flat strip plate by a press, a process of grinding the punched strip plate, a process of permanently and plastically deforming the ground strip plate into a prescribed three-dimensional shape by roll molding, and a process of annealing the permanently and plastically deformed strip plate at a low temperature.

SOLUTION: The shape retaining material is obtained by forming flat regions 10 into a three-dimensional bent form relatively bulged to the front by bending parts to the inside ends 5 and parts to the outside ends 6 toward the skin side of a wearer while leaving the prescribed flat regions 10 in the intermediate parts therebetween when ends located to the center of the breast of the wearer are taken as the inside ends 5 and the ends located to the sides of the wearer are taken as the outside ends 6.
