In an edge node TPE-3 accommodating a node AE 51 of a user site 50 and edge nodes TPE-1 and TPE-2, a working LSP 110 and a backup LSP 120 are respectively set. One of the links is defined to be an in-operation link while the other is defined to be a backup link. An LSP with the TPE node having the in-operation link out of the LSP 110 and 120 is set to be in operation. Priority is assigned to each link, and on the occurrence of a failure etc. in each link or LSP, a switchover to an in-operation state is made successively from a link having the highest priority to the lowest.

摘要： A host computer communicates with field devices by sending control messages and receiving response messages over a wireless network. When the host computer sends a control message to the wireless network, the host computer is provided with a predictive response time within which the field device receiving the message will respond. The wireless network cycles between a sleep state and an active state based upon a wireless network power cycle. The predicted response time is based upon the current state of the wireless network, the power cycle, and the time required for the field device to turn on, take an action (such as measuring a parameter), and generating a response message.

Should the network node make a subsequent determination that data sent over the given network link to the neighbouring network node has not been successfully received, the network node deletes the entry from the memory.
