    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology with which the dimension in the subscanning direction of a cylindrical lens is kept small without generating a strain and a warpage at a part through which a laser beam passes. SOLUTION: The cylindrical lens 64 is so formed, in the cross section orthogonal to a main scanning direction (for example, A 1 -A 1 cross section), that the incident face 64a side of respective non-lens effective regions does not project from the incident face 64a side of a lens effective region 64c by linearly forming the incident face 64a, and the emission face 64b side of respective non-lens regions does not project from the emission face 64b side of the lends effective region 64c by forming the emission face side 64b side in a convex curve. Thus, the strain and the warpage are not generated in the lens effective region 64c and the dimension in the subscanning direction of the cylindrical lens need not be set large as in the conventional manner and consequently the dimension in the subscanning direction of the cylindrical lens 64 is allowed to be kept small.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve working efficiency in the machining of a web and the formation of a marking pattern. SOLUTION: In the web machining apparatus, the marking head 56 is arranged opposite to an X-ray film 12 wound around a print roll 32 provided at the upstream side of a slit blade. The marking head is provided so that printing regions 82A, 82B are provided in the scan region of a laser beam LB while a non-printing region 84 is sandwiched and the non-printing region opposes a cut line 68 due to the slit blade, thus forming marking patterns MP at both the sides sandwiching the cut line by the web machining apparatus prior to the cutting of the X-ray film.
