    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a use of a composite material which has a transparent photocatalyst layer having utilizable substrate design and exerts the function of photocatalytic decomposition while effectively inhibiting over a long period the appearance change caused by silicone fouling.SOLUTION: There is provided a use of a composite material comprising a photocatalyst layer for generating the photocatalytic decomposition of substances in the outdoor causing silicone fouling. The photocatalyst layer comprises photocatalyst particles and inorganic oxide particles, and the total mass of those two particles is 80-100 mass% based on 100 mass% of the whole photocatalyst layer. The particle components of the photocatalyst layer have less than 90 nm of a number-average particle size which is calculated through measurements of the lengths of any 100 particles present in a field of view obtained with a scanning electron microscope and having a magnification of 200,000. The photocatalyst layer is transparent and has a film thickness of 3 μm or less. The photocatalyst is photoexcited by sunlight to decompose the substances, and silicone fouling on the surface of the photocatalyst layer is reduced or prevented.
