    • PURPOSE:To reduce the connection resistance in a connection terminal after suppressing an adverse effect on a small thermal conductivity by adding a conductive material to only an oxide superconductor in the vicinity of the connection terminal. CONSTITUTION:La-, Y- and other oxide superconductors are respectively applied as the title oxide superconductor. A conductive material to be added to only the vicinity of a connection terminal is silver, silver oxide or the like. As raw material powder, Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO are used, and these materials are prepared and mixed so as to be Y:Ba=1:2:3 in atomic ratio and are calcined thereafter. Then, said calcined powder is crushed finely and subsequently green- compacted by a press jig. In this case, the calcined powder obtained by addition of 10wt.% silver powder 2 and by sufficient mixture is used in connection terminals 1 at both ends. After that, heat treatment is applied to said green compact so that it is possible to obtain the bulk material 3 of the oxide superconductor, where silver particles 2 are dispersion-added to only the connection terminal 1.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the title superconducting long sized wire having an uniform characteristic by a method wherein at least one surface of a thin plate shaped base material is coated with a low temperature superconducting thin film and is cut in a spiral shape to form each taped wire so that the taped wire is tensioned in the straightening direction after being annealed and is coated with synthetic resin or metal, thus obtaining the long sized wire coated in a range of twisted width or more. CONSTITUTION:For example, a thin doughtnut plate 1, base material, of Ag having 280mm outer dia., 90mm inner dia. and 0.05mm thickness is inserted into a sputtering device arranged wit ha ceramic target of YBCO (Y1Ba2Cu3O2:85 K), so that one surface of the doughtnut plate 1 is coated with a superconducting film of 3mum thickness so as to form a YBCO system superconducting film coated doughtnut plate 3. Successively, the plate 3 is cut in a spiral shape to form taped wires of 1mm width. The taped wire 4 is annealed at 940 deg.C and then is tensioned in the straightening direction to form a taped wire 5, which is immersed into a vinyl chloride resin solution so that it is possible to obtain a superconducting long sized wire covered in a range of a twisted width or more.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the resistance value after quenching and improve the cooling efficiency, in a current-limiting element manufactured by using ceramic superconductor, by calcinating a wire so as to form a nonconductive type after melting the sheath of the wire which has been temporarily sintered by using the sheath such as of silver. CONSTITUTION:A current limiting element is formed by binding a wire by melting and sintering the wire after temporarily sintering and compacting the wire by using a copper or silver sheath. A ceramic superconductor is once temporarily sintered to compound a superconductor 1, which is molded and further sintered. After temporarily sintering and molding the wire in a copper or silver sheath, the sheath is melted by nitric acid or the like to produce a bare wire, which is sintered to produce a long element without sheath. Next, the wire is binded to get a required sectional area and fixed on an insulating plate 2 in nonconductive winding. Thereby, the long current limiting element can be obtained, the cooling efficiency is excellent because of the large sectional area of the wire contacting liquid nitrogen, the quick transfer to superconducting from normal conducting after recovering short-circuit fault becomes possible, and the circuit can be reclosed at high speed.
