摘要： PURPOSE:To produce the titled mold having excellent precise processability, mechanical strength and heat-resistance and useful for the mass-production of high-precision optical glass element at a low cost, by coating a specific platinum (alloy) thin film on a surface of a matrix having strength and stable even at a high temperature. CONSTITUTION:A high-strength matrix stable even at a high temperature, such as cemented carbide composed mainly of WC, thermet, ZrO2, etc., is processed to form a mold for the press-forming of a pair of optical glass elements. The pressing surface of the mold is mirror-polished and the polished surface is plated with Pt or a Pt alloy such as Pt-Re at a plating bath temperature of 40-90 deg.C and a cathode current density of 0.1-10A/dm . The polished surface of the matrix 11 is coated with a thin film 12 of platinum or platinum alloy having a laminar structure consisting of columnar fine structure according to the current density or the compositional distribution.

摘要： PURPOSE:To mass-produce high-precision optical glass elements by coating the press surface of a forming die with a noble metal layer, passing an electric current through the noble metal layer to heat the layer, and pressing the glass material surface to deform the surface. CONSTITUTION:The thin films of noble metal layers 15 and 16 of a Pt-Ir-Os alloy, etc., having chemical stability to glass are coated on the electrical insulating heat-resistant base materials to obtain a forming die to be used. Thermocouples 23 and 24 are respectively inserted into an upper die 12 and a lower die 13, then a preform 10 is placed on the lower die 13, and an electric current is passed through the noble metal layers 15 and 16 through lead wires 21 and 22 to heat the layers. When the temp. of the die reaches a specified value, a plunger 18 is lowered, and the preform 10 is press-formed and deformed. High-precision optical glass elements can be produced with good mass- productivity by this method.

The surface roughness of the roughened part is reflected to the surface roughness of the protection layer 6a and the roughness of the protection layer 6a is further reflected to the surface roughness of the protection layer 6b to form a roughened surface on the protection layer 6b.
