摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive motion compensation prediction decoder requiring less memory by providing an encoding circuit for blocking pictures every plural picture element and encoding them for respective blocks, the memory for storing the encoded blocks and a means for storing the head addresses of the blocks on the memory. SOLUTION: An inputted bit stream is variable length decoded in a variable length decoder 21 and an encoded prediction error, a prediction mode and a motion vector are outputted from the variable length decoder 21. The encoded prediction error is decoded by an inverse quantizer 22 and an inverse DCT transformer 23 and added to prediction pictures outputted from a prediction picture preparation circuit 26 in an adder 24. The pictures outputted from the adder 24 are the decoded pictures and a data compression circuit 104 compresses and stores the pictures. Since the adder 24 outputs the decoded pictures in an encoding order, the data compression circuit 104 rearranges compressed data in a display order and outputs them. A first data expansion circuit 105a expands the output and outputs the pictures.

CONSTITUTION: The input signals received through a terminal 1 is delayed by the field delay circuits 4a to 4d and the line delay circuits 3a to 3d via an A/D converter 2 and then inputted to a filter 5. The output signal of the circuit 3b is inputted to a filter 6, and the output signals of the circuits 4b, 3b and 3c are inputted to a correlation detection circuit 7. The outputs of the filters 5 to 7 are inputted to the compensating delay circuits 9a, 9b and 10a, and the outputs of the circuits 9a and 9b are inputted to a switch circuit 11. The circuit 11 selects one of two outputs based on the output signal of the circuit 10a and outputs the selected output as a chroma signal through an output terminal 13. At the same time, the selected output is subtracted from the output of a compensating delay circuit 8 by a subtractor 12. The result of this subtraction is outputted to an output terminal 14 as a luminance signal.

In such a manner, the processed pictures by the plural processing circuits 11 and 12 are displayed and the difference between the plural processed pictures is easily indicated.
