摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to always obtain an excellent image even when continuous images are formed by specifying the interval between a recording electrode and the sleeve of a toner carrier and the thickness of a toner layer on the sleeve thin in a direct recording method. SOLUTION: This method for forming an image comprises the steps of disposing a back surface electrode 2 oppositely to a toner carrier, disposing matrix- like recording electrodes 3 between the carrier 1 and the electrode 2, and directly flying toner from the carrier 1 to a recording medium 4 in response to the voltage applying state to the electrodes 3, wherein the interval between the carrier 1 and the electrode 3 at the present position is set to 51 to 80μm. Further, the thickness of the toner layer on the carrier 1 is specified to 10 to 60μm, and the voltage of 300 to 400V is applied to the recording electrode to form the image.

This image forming method includes a means which supports and carries the magnetic developer 2 and which consists of a permanent magnet equipped on the surface with a plurality of magnetic poles and formed cylindrically and rotatably, and the magnetic carrier should have a specific volume resistivity of 10 Ω.cm or more.
