摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the safety and material yield of the key for vehicles and lower its cost by constituting the key by the grip part of approximately circle in section curved and formed from a bar-form member and the crest and trough parts of approximately ellipse in shape. CONSTITUTION:Blank 1' of approximately circle in sectional shape is curved and formed to the specified shape by way of suitable dies to form a grip part (a) and at the same time the appriximately circular shape 1' of the extended part 4 thereof is worked and formed to approximately circle shape 1'' to form desired crest and trough parts (b) in said part, whereby one key K consisting of the grip part (a) and crest and trough parts (b) is constituted. This key has no contacts points as sharp protrusions at all as compared to conventional keys blanked from flat plates. Should load be applied in the arrow direction, the grip part (a) deforms easily like diagonal lines, thereby preventing the stress concentration at the contact points and permitting the improvement in safety. As compared to conventional keys, it has higher strength and material yield.
