    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray for liquid crystalline polyester solid phase polymerization and a method for producing a liquid crystalline polyester using the same, capable of reducing adhesion of the liquid crystalline polyester prepared by solid phase polymerization to allow its automatic discharge and capable of achieving improvement in productivity and reduction in production loss of a prepolymer.SOLUTION: A tray for liquid crystalline polyester solid phase polymerization is used to hold a liquid crystalline polyester prepolymer and then housed in a heating furnace for performing solid phase polymerization. In a tray body formed of metal, a ceramic coating layer with heat resistance temperature of ≥400°C is formed on a contact surface with the prepolymer. After a crushed prepolymer is charged in the tray and the tray is housed in the heating furnace, a solid phase polymerization process of the liquid crystalline polyester is carried out.
