    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve grafting efficiency by preventing graft gap between a stock seedling and a scion seedling on clip grafting. SOLUTION: For example, a clip grafting device 25 controls the driving operations of a stock seedling-transfer device 18 and a scion seedling-transfer device 22 so that a stock seedling and a scion seedling are sufficiently inserted (shown by an arrow (A)) from the stock seedling-transfer device and the scion seedling-transfer device, respectively, while a pair of tips (holding parts 123b) of a clip 123 are open at a clip grafting position. This enables the grafting of the stock seedling and the scion seedling only by closing the tips of the clip 123 at the grafting position. In the case of the clip grafting, there is no failure that is observed in the conventional technique, that is, the seedlings are slipped out from the grafting position by the clip 123 pushed forward, graft gap is prevented and grafting efficiency is improved.
