摘要： PURPOSE:To increase the recording capacity of a medium by using changes in absorption of microwaves in a rugged pattern preliminarily formed in an information recording medium according to information. CONSTITUTION:A part of the recording medium is heated by irradiation with laser light. Magnetization 108 of the magnetic layer 107 is preliminarily arranged in one direction. In this process, the frequency of microwaves 103 and the intensity of magnetic field 109 applied are determined so that magnetic resonance can be caused only when the recording medium is heated and the magnetic layer 107 is perpendicular to the magnetic field 109 applied. In this case, magnetic resonance is caused only in the heated area 105 of a flat part 110. In a slope part, the magnetic field is not applied perpendicular to the film even when the slope is in a heated area. Further, magnetization is inclined from the axis of easy magnetization, so that magnetic resonance is not caused in the slope part. Therefore, absorption of microwave is caused only when specified conditions are satisfied in the heated area 104. Thus, the medium has a very high surface recording density.
