    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain block copolymer disperse particles not undergoing phase separation and being useful for coating materials, pressure-sensitive adhesives, toners and resin modifiers by subjecting two vinyl monomers to two-stage polymerization in an aqueous system in the presence of a polymerization initiator comprising a specified polymeric peroxide. SOLUTION: There is used a polymeric peroxide selected from the group consisting of an acyl-type polymeric peroxide represented by formula I (wherein n is 3-20) and ester-type polymeric peroxides represented by formula II (wherein X is C7 H14 or cyclohexyl; and m is 3-30). Until the rate of decomposition of the peroxy bonds reaches 20-80%, a vinyl monomer which can give a polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of below -20 deg.C is subjected to first stage emulsion polymerization or fine suspension polymerization in a water system. Next, a vinyl monomer which can give a polymer having a Tg of 0 deg.C is added to the system, and the entire mixture is subjected to second stage emulsion polymerization or fine suspension polymerization induced by the remaining peroxy bonds.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding material which, even when contains a shrinkage lowering agent and a colorant, shows excellent moldability and can give moldings freed from color unevenness and having excellent surface gloss by using an unsaturated polyester prepared from a polybasic acid component and dicyclopentadiene in a specified ratio and a curing agent being a specified peroxy acid ester. SOLUTION: This material contains an unsaturated polyester which satisfies the formula [wherein Ai (where (i) is 1, 2, ..., or n; (n) is a natural number) as a polybasic acid which is a constituent of a polybasic acid component; mi is the molar fraction of the polybasic acid Ai in the total polybasic acid component; Ni is the number of the carboxyl groups of the polybasic acid Ai (where Ni is an integer of 2 or greater and is counted in hydrated form in the case of an acid anhydride); X is the number of moles of the dicyclopentadiene used between the number of moles X of the dicyclopentadiene used per mol of the carboxyl groups of the total polybasic acid component] and a peroxy acid ester in which a 5C or higher tertiary alkyl is bonded to a peroxide group.
