摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a lubricant on a skirt guard with an optimal state depending on conditions of an escalator, without requiring a maintenance person.
SOLUTION: An application brush 16 which can be arranged at both an application position and a non-application position is disposed to a footstep 13 of the escalator. A control device 9 has: a calendar function part 20 in which a schedule for applying the lubricant to the skirt guard 5 is set; and a passenger presence/absence determination part 22 determining presence/absence of a passenger. The application brush 16 is usually placed in the non-application position. Based on the application schedule, the determination that there is no passenger on the escalator is made, the application brush 16 of the footstep 13 moving on an outward side is placed in the application position and applies the lubricant to the skirt guard 5.
