摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy system for obtaining a biopsy specimen.SOLUTION: The biopsy system includes a control module, a localization assembly, a biopsy device, and a targeting cube. The biopsy device includes a holster portion and a probe. The probe and/or other associated components are configured to selectively couple with the targeting cube configured to selectively couple with a grid plate having apertures for receiving the targeting cube. The targeting cube includes a body defined by faces. The targeting cube further includes guide holes which start from and terminate at the faces and pass through the body of the targeting cube to provide passages through the targeting cube. The targeting cube further includes at least one hinged member which is located along the outer portion of the targeting cube and interfaces with the aperture in the grid plate. The hinged member may provide a tapered profile to the targeting cube and may further include an elastomeric portion.

The probe 91 and/or other associated components are configured to selectively couple with the targeting cube 104 that is configured to selectively couple with a grid plate 96 having apertures for receiving the targeting cube 104. The targeting cube 104 further includes guide holes that originate and terminate at the faces and pass through the body of the targeting cube 104 to provide passages through the targeting cube 104. The intersections of the faces of the targeting cube 104 include edges constituted of an elastomeric material. The elastomeric edges allow for compression and thus provide a secure fit with a wide range of grid plates 96 having openings of various shapes and sizes.

The apparatus further includes an advancing apparatus having: a first arm with a first engaging feature for engaging the handle of the dilation member 10; a second arm with a second engaging feature for engaging the handle of the expansion member; and an operation member. The first arm and the second arm are connected so that operation of the operation member approximates the first engaging feature and the second engaging feature together.
