摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clocking apparatus for saving energy without causing a user to feel inconvenience in a watch apparatus where a stepping motor for moving clock hands and a generation apparatus are accommodated together. SOLUTION: In the clocking apparatus 1 incorporating the generation apparatus 40 for generation by capturing kinetic energy using a rotary weight, a generation state detection section 91 detects whether the generation apparatus 40 is generating power or not. When non-generation time exceeds specific time, shifting is made to a power-saving mode and time display is stopped. Then, when generation is detected by the generation state detection section 91, return is made to a display mode to resume time display. The generation apparatus 40 using the rotary weight generates power by capturing the movement or the like in a user's arm, and hence can accurately judge whether the apparatus is being carried or not according to the presence or absence of generation. When the apparatus is being carried, time display continues regardless of nighttime and winter. When the apparatus is being carried, no time display is made for saving power even if it is bright.

SOLUTION: Generation voltage detection processes (Steps S2 and S12) detect a generation voltage in a power generation unit. Operation mode control processes (Steps S3-S7 and S1-S15) shift the operation mode of a driven unit from the normal operation mode to the power saving mode and vice versa based on the generation state of the power generation unit or the operation state of an operation means. A limiter control process (Step S8) prohibits the operation of a limiter when the operation mode of the driven unit is in the power saving mode. As a result, the generation voltage detection processes can surely shift the operation mode to the normal operation mode in the power saving mode by detecting the generation state of the power generation device. A limiter prohibition operation releasing process (Step S13) actuates the limiter again after shifting to the normal operation mode.

Thus it is possible to simplify the circuit constitution and to obtain a compact and light-weight key input device.
