CONSTITUTION:Surface-treated carbon black is obtained by mixing carbon black with a polyamine and/or its modified product under agitation at a temperature condition of 0-300 deg.C. As said polyamine (modified product), polyethyleneimine, polypropyleneimine or a reaction product of polyethyleneimine with an epihalohydrin each having an MW in the range of 1,000,000-2,000,000 can be suitably used. The surface-treated carbon black is uniform in the state of the treated surface, and the bond between the polyamine (modified product) used in the treatment and the carbon black is strong.

CONSTITUTION:A carbon black dispersion is formed by dispersing carbon black treated with at least either a polyamine or a modified polyamine in water and/or an organic solvent. Said polyamine used is a polymer having an MW >=200, preferably, >=300 and has a polyalkylenepolyamine moiety, and it is a homopolymer, copolymer, block polymer or graft polymer obtained by polymerizing an aziridine compound by ring-opening. Especially, polyethyleneimine is desirable because of its inexpensiveness and industrial availability. Said modified polyamine means a product derived from a polyamine and especially one in which the polyamine is polyethyleneimine is desirable.

Then, the (co)polymer and a photopolymerizable monomer (e.g., diethylene glycol diacrylate) are mixed in a weight ratio of 40-98wt.%:60-2wt.% in terms of solid content to obtain the aimed photocurable composition. This photocurable composition, though being free from a photopolymerization initiator, can be cured to form film by irradiation with, for example, ultraviolet light.
