    • PURPOSE:To ensure the operation even when a load current is small by connecting a voltage limit circuit comprising a diode, a resistor and a capacitor between the source of a MOSFET and a tap provided to the secondary side of a current transformer so as to make a reset voltage of the current transformer applicable. CONSTITUTION:The voltage limit circuit 20 being the series connection of a parallel circuit comprising a diode 21 and a resister 22 and a parallel circuit comprising a Zener diode 23 and a capacitor 24 is connected between the tap provided to the secondary side of the current transformer 30 and the source of the MOSFET 2. Moreover, a diode 25 whose anode is connected to the base of a transistor(TR) is connected between the base of the bipolar TR 1 and a connecting midpoint being the connection of the said two parallel circuits. Thus, a reset voltage generated at the secondary side of the current transformer 30 at the turn-off of the semiconductor switch is limited to charge the part of the reset voltage in excess of the limit voltage to the capacitor 24. The charged voltage is applied to the semiconductor switch via the part of secondary side of the current transformer 30 at the turn-on of the semiconductor switch. Thus, the reset of the current transformer 30 is ensured. Furthermore, the semiconductor switch is surely turned on.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a harmonic current by parallel connecting two-stage cascade connected inverters to the DC output side of first diode rectifiers and by providing three-phase AC switches and second diode rectifiers. CONSTITUTION:The AC ends of three-phase bridge connected first diode rectifiers 10 of a power converter are connected to a three-phase AC power and inverters 5 are connected the DC ends of said diode rectifiers via reactors 2. The output of said inverters is prallel connected in a common homopolarity manner via insulating transformers 6 and second diode rectifiers 7 and connected a capacitor 8. Also, three-phase AC switches 20 are connected between the interconnecting point of said inverters 5 and the three-phase AC power. Thus, said three-phase AC power is rectified into three-phase half-wave rectification waveforms and controlled it waveform by both inverters 5P-5N divided into positive and negative groups, respectively. Then, the DC current difference of said first diode rectifiers 10 is controlled via the three-phase AC switches 20 to flow to the AC power.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the power factor of a power converter to substantially 1 by providing a bidirectional conduction type 3-phase AC switch between the intermediate point of a stepup chopper and a 3-phase AC power source connected in parallel, and providing a voltage controller and a current controller. CONSTITUTION:A power converter consists of 3-phase bridge-connected diode rectifiers 10, reactors 2P, 2N respectively connected to the positive, negative output terminals, DC switches 3P, 3N, diodes 4P, 4N, and capacitors 5P, 5N, and a load 6 is energized from both ends of the capacitors 5P, 5N. Stepup choppers 8P, 8N made of reactors 2, etc., are provided together with a 3-phase AC switch 7, and the intermediate connecting point O of the switches 3P, 3N is connected to a 3-phase AC power source (eU + eW). Thus, the current references of both positive and negative stepup choppers are calculated from AC power source current reference, the output current is waveform-controlled by a current controller, and the difference of P- and N-side DC currents is so controlled as to supply it through the switch 7 to the AC power source.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the charging voltage vibration of a snubber capacitor by feeding back the snubber enerby fed back to a power source through a resistor for the initial certain period and then shortcircuiting the resistor. CONSTITUTION:An inverter with a self-arc-extinguishing switching element 1 is formed by connecting in series reactors 2 between the elements 1 and in parallel with the elements 1 a feedback diode 3 and a snubber 4. Further a diode rectifier 7 is provided, and the discharging current of the capacitor 41 of the snubber 4 is fed back through a current transformer 6 to a DC power source. In this case, a parallel circuit of a semiconductor switch 8 and a resistor 9 for damping is provided at the secondary winding side of the transformer 6, and resistors 10a, 10d for resetting the transformer 6 are connected in parallel with a pair of diagonal diodes 7a, 7c of the rectifier 7. Thus, when the voltage of the resistor 9 rises to the prescribed level at the feedback time, the switch 8 is closed to shortcircuit the resistor 9.
