摘要： PURPOSE: To quicken registering processing to a document data base by collectively executing the additional processing of plural indexes on a memory. CONSTITUTION: Key words are extracted from all the documents and key words are assigned to each block so as to equalize the index size of each block of prescribed number of blocks on an index file 8000. At the time of registering the document, when the pertinent extracted key words are larger than a prescribed number corresponding to each block storing the indexes, the block is read from a magnetic disk 105 into a memory 104 and the additional processing of the indexes for the corresponding key word are collectively executed by the memory 4000. Writing this to the disk 105 reduces the number of accessing times to the disk 105 and when smaller than the prescribed number, only indexes corresponding to the pertinent key word are read onto the memory 4000 and the additional processing of the indexes is executed to write into the disk 105 so that an access data quantity is minimized.

摘要： PURPOSE: To perform structure specified retrieval in practical time even to the large scale of a structured document by omitting the search of a condensed text corresponding to a text other than a logical structure to be a target at the time of performing the retrieval for which the logical structure to be the target is specified. CONSTITUTION: A retrieval control program 80 is activated and a character component chart, the condensed texts for the respective logical structures and the text inside a data base storage area 100 for the retrieval inside a magnetic disk device 7 are read to a data area 90 on a main memory 6. Then, when retrieval conditions are inputted, the program 80 activates a character component chart search program 40, ANDs bit strings corresponding to characters constituting a retrieval term for the character component chart read to the area 90, selects only a document to be1 and thus, extracts the document provided with the characters constituting the retrieval term in the entire text. Thereafter, a condensed text for respective logical structure search program 50 is activated and the condensed text relating to the logical structure specified as a retrieval object among the condensed texts prepared for the respective logical structures is selected.

Then character arrays which exceeds the error permissible rate among the retrieved character arrays are discharged before the character arrays are referred to, and the character array below the error permissible rate are retrieved among the retrieved character strings without any omission.

As for the selected logic cube, an evaluated quantity calculating means 133 finds a fault detection rate when the input/output pattern of the function table are used as a test pattern. Consequently, the logic circuit which can obtain a high fault detection rate in logic verification can be generated. An increase in area as a result of the insertion of the scan circuit is therefore suppressed. Further, no scanning circuit is inserted, so the test time can be prevented from becoming long. Further, an increase in circuit delay is precluded.
