    • PURPOSE: To improve the detecting accuracy of a broken fuel system detector by providing a gap between an outer cap and an inner cap to thereby detect the broken fuel system regardless of the difference in elongation of a fuel assembly.
      CONSTITUTION: A guide tube is secured to an outer cap 14, and a sampling tube 9 is flexibly attached to the guide tube. An inner cap 17 is axially slidably attached to the guide tube with a gap G provided between the inner cap 17 and the outer cap 14. A shipping cap 2 is moved onto the fuel assemblies 5, 16 to be detected at fuel inspecting time, and a gasket 19 is seated on the assemblies 5, 16. Since the inner cap 17 can elevationally move, even if the fuel assemblies differ in length, and the tube 9 is flexible, the cap 2 can be easily attached to the fuel assemblies to accurately detect the broken fuel system of the fuel assemblies by varying the sampling position.
