摘要： PURPOSE:To attain excellent operation convenience and to safely a store a binary picture once formed in the video camera having a function synthesizing a binary picture signal into a video signal. CONSTITUTION:Binary picture signals obtained from a video signal from an object image by an image pickup section 1 according to information stored in a binary picture memory 5, a title memory 9 and a counter memory 12 are synthesized by synthesis circuits 3, 14. The camera is provided with a main power supply 30 to drive the image pickup section 1, a chargeable secondary battery 39 supplying power to the memories 5, 9, 12 and a charger circuit charging the secondary battery 39 with power from the main power supply 30, then the secondary battery is employed for a backup power supply for the memories storing the binary picture and the storage content of the memories is not lost for charging the secondary battery, no troublesome operation is required for the user and the information relating to the binary picture stored once is used semi-permanently.

摘要： PURPOSE:To accurately obtain a battery residue by discriminating the type of a used battery from stored data regarding measured results of battery outputs from different time points and discharging characteristic of the battery, and operating the residue. CONSTITUTION:A circuit voltage V of a battery 10 is measured by using change in a load resistance value due to a difference of operation modes of a load circuit 14, and the type of the battery is determined from variation in the open circuit voltage (internal electromotive force) V. An operational processor 22 judges similarity of the discharging characteristic of the used battery 10 to any of the characteristics of memories 28A, 28B and 28C, reads data of battery residual time for the open circuit voltage from the memory for storing the most similar discharging characteristic, and displays available time of the battery 10 by a display unit 26. Thus, even if the used battery is replaced with the same or another type of battery, an accurate residue can be obtained.
