摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by simplifying the device configuration. CONSTITUTION:Received picture data are stored in a picture memory 31 and read and an ink jet recording head 1 is driven according to the picture data to record a received picture on recording paper. After the recording of picture of one page, a predetermined pattern (black mark) is recorded with a margin from a tail end of the recording paper. The pattern is read by a photo sensor 13, an opposite face of the photo sensor has a block color area, a CPU 23 and when an output of the photo sensor 13 indicates 'black level, white level, black level', the CPU 23 discriminates it that the recording paper is carried normally and the ink storage is enough. On the other hand, when an output of the photo sensor 13 indicates 'white level, white level, black level', the CPU 23 discriminates that the ink runs short. When an output of the photo sensor 13 indicates other level patterns, the CPU 23 discriminates that the recording paper is jammed and stops the carrying means.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the operability of opening a cover member at replacement of an ink jet cartridge and to install the device in a narrow space by fitting an original discharge Ray turnably to a cover. CONSTITUTION:An original discharge tray 8 is fitted to a cover 7 around a hinge 8a turnably. When an ink jet cartridge 16 is replaced, the cover 7 is turned in a direction of E and open upward of a recording section B. In this case, the tray 8 is turned around the hinge 8a in a direction D and folded on the cover 7, and after the ink jet cartridge 16 is replaced via a space 30 formed and the cover 7 and the tray 8 are returned to the original position. Furthermore, when there is no space for tray expansion to the depth of the device, the tray 8 is turned and fixed while being in contact with a wall. Thus, the cover member is opened/closed without removal of the tray, the operability is improved and the device is installed even without a space for tray expansion in the depth.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve reliability on discharge operation for a recorded paper by prohibiting recording operation when a paper feed cassette is not mounted on a recording device body. CONSTITUTION:When a paper feed cassette 2 is not attached to a recording device body 3, it is detected by a detecting sensor 25 for the presence of a cassette that a paper feed cassette 2 is absent, a signal therefrom is fed to a control means, and a control means prohibits paper feed operation. Thus, the delivery of a paper sheet S from an option paper feed unit 30 is prohibited. In this case, received recording data is stored in a memory. When the paper feed cassette 2 is mounted in the recording device body 3, recording operation is started and recording data stored in the memory is recorded at the paper sheet S. This constitution improves reliability of discharge of the paper sheets. The presence of the paper sheets S contained in the paper feed cassette 2 may be detected. When it is decided by a sensor for the presence of a paper sheet that the paper sheet S is absent, recording operation is prohibited by a control means.

When the space part E is opened, the guide 8 and the rear guide 17 are opened and, therefore, even when the jamming of recording paper is generated by the guides 8, 17, paper jamming processing can be performed by opening the cover 22.

The contact part of the discharge roller 12 and the spur 13 is arranged so as to be flush with the upper surface of the platen 3.
