    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development which is highly safety for the environment and can be produced inexpensively, and which nonetheless has improved adhesiveness between a coating layer and a core material and is less apt to cause degradation in the image quality accompanying toner spent and film chipping in the coating layer, even when a developer is agitated over a long period of time, and to provide a two-component developer and an image forming method that uses the carrier. SOLUTION: The carrier for a dry two-component developer is a carrier having a core material and a coating layer formed on the surface of the core material and is such that: the coating layer is formed by using a composite resin containing a polysiloxane segment and a segment produced by radical polymerization; and the composite resin is obtained by radical emulsion polymerization of, in the presence of (A) a partial condensate of organosilane, (B) a radical polymerizable monomer and (C) a vinyl crosslinking agent, having a radical polymerizable group and a condensation reactive group that can induce a condensation reaction with the partial condensate of the organosilane.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which is excellent in low-temperature fixability while ensuring hot offset resistance and with which an image good in image density and haze value can be obtained. SOLUTION: The toner comprises resin particles (C) obtained by attaching resin particles (A) containing a first resin (a) or a film (P) containing the resin (a) to the surface of resin particles (B) containing a second resin (b) and a third resin (d). The resin (b) contains a linear polyester resin (b1) obtained by reacting a polyester diol (b11) containing a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid skeleton and a polyester diol (b12) other than the polyester diol (b11) with an extender. The resin (d) contains a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid skeleton comprising an optically active monomer, and the polyhydroxycarboxylic acid skeleton has an optical purity X (X(%)=¾X(L-body)-X(D-body)¾) of ≤80% in terms of the monomer component, wherein X(L-body) and X(D-body) represent an L-body ratio and a D-body ratio (mol%), respectively, in terms of the optically active monomer.
