摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the hardening of meat and lowering of the taste of fresh fish meat caused by the denaturation of proteins, and to enable the preservation of fresh fish keeping its freshness and taste for a long period, by the use of a preservation material composed of a mixture of salt and granule of agricultural by-products having high water-retainability and containing a large amount of roughage. CONSTITUTION:Granular agricultural by-product containing large amount of roughage and having high water-retainability, e.g. beet cake, etc. is mixed with salt at a ratio of 20-60:80-40, and the mixture is used as a preservation material for the salting preservation of fresh fish. A fresh fish body such as herring is washed with water after removing guts therefrom, and is smeared sufficiently with the above preservation material to enable the preservation of the fish. The amount of the material is preferably >=15wt% of the fresh fish.

摘要： PURPOSE:To accurately measure the density, concentration, specific gravity and the like of a liquid, by forming the interfacial wall into a circular shape thereby to prevent the attenuation of measuring light as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:When a sucrose solution as a liquid 1 to be measured has a concentration of 0%, all the rectilinearly propagating measuring lights entering through a light entering port 3 are totally reflected by the section of a circular interfacial wall 5 between points Q and P and passed through a light-receiving port 4 and then received by a light-receiving element 8. In this case, the quantity of the reflected light is maximum. As the sucrose solution increases in concentration, the critical angle (alpha) determined by a light-transmitting substance 2 and the liquid 1 becomes larger, so that the region in the QP part of the interfacial wall 5 where the incident angle is larger than the critical angle decreases. In consequence, the measuring lights become unable to satisfy the total reflection conditions successively from the measuring lights closer to the rectilinearly propagating light L, resulting in a reduction in quantiy of the light received by the light-receiving element 8. Thus, if the electromotive force generated by the element 8 is previously obtained for each concentration, an unknown concentration can be accurately measured by employing this apparatus.
