    • PURPOSE:To generate a simplified map being suitable for every destination by classify ing map information in a prescribed block into each separate hierarchy by putting priority at every information in order to specify a route, and adding separately a signpost mark. CONSTITUTION:Map information is classified into each separate information of the lay of the land, a road, a railroad and a building, and accumulated in information accumulating parts 1-4, respectively. Each information is classified at every prescribed block and the information is held, and also, classified and accumulated at every priority such as from a first hierarchy to a fourth hierarchy. For instance, in a building information accumulating part 4, a first hierarchy 14 is a public building such as a city hall, etc., and a second hierarchy 24 is a large building, etc., such as a plant and a company, etc. Also, each information accumulating part 1-4 accumulates information to which a signpost mark which can become a signpost at the time of showing a route is added. For instance, in the building information accumulating part 4, the signpost mark is added to the city hall in advance. In such a way, at the time of determining the starting place, the city hall is selected as the information of the signpost mark by the building information being in the shortest distance.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously display dimensional discrimination information and measured location accuracy information within a visual field to be viewed causing no dangers by providing a receiving means for receiving a signal from a satellite, measured location accuracy information generating means and a display means. SOLUTION: A GPS receiver 11 calculates the current position of an automobile based on positional data obtained from a GPS satellite. An electronic map data reading system part 12 reads the map data of a corresponding region from a recording medium according to measured location data from the receiver 11. According to discrimination as to whether the measured location data obtained from the receiver 11 is two-dimensional or three-dimensional, a mark 16 indicating the current position is switched and displayed. Switching and displaying of this mark 16 are performed by a built-in navigation system controller 13. The controller 13 changes the color and shape of the mark 16 or a lighting speed according to the dimension discrimination information of two dimension or three dimension and supplies display data to the display 14.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize automatic production of a 3D animation capable of efficiently setting a point of regard and a viewpoint, and displaying conditions in tracking a moving body.
      SOLUTION: Upon setting the point of regard and viewpoint with a camera parameter setting means, each image of the animation is produced by obtaining required drawing image data from three-dimensional map data by means of a drawing image processing means based on this setting. When the moving body moves in a direction of an arrow A along a route R1, the point of regard is set on the route R1 (e.g. a point P14) of the moving body by means of the camera parameter setting means, and the viewpoint is set at the back (e.g. a point P15) of the point of regard along the route. Accordingly, because a two-dimensional coordinate of the point of regard and viewpoint is coincided with a coordinate for either of the points on the route R1, the point of regard and viewpoint are set with simple processing by only giving the route data of the moving body.
