    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical bag forming and packaging machine which is simple and small despite its motion similar to a boxing motion.
      SOLUTION: The continuous rotation of a first servomotor 3 is converted into a prolate ellipsoidal motion, composed of a vertical (Y direction) motion and a horizontal (X direction) motion, by a first motion converting mechanism, in which a lever 25 connected with a crank shaft 6 is fitted on a lever support 31 within a long hole 30. At the front end 28 of the lever 25, only a vertical reciprocal motion is taken out for a vertical movement slider 9 by a direct acting bearing mechanism. The output of a second servomotor of the vertical moving slider 9 is converted into a reciprocating motion with which a vertical heater block 7 moves backward and forward horizontally. Thereby, the side edge portions fe, fe of a packaging material are gripped by vertical heater blocks 7 and 8 to form heat seals.
