SOLUTION: The support 10 comprises a pair of mutually separate ends and a tube having an outer periphery surface between the ends. The annular recess 18 is formed in an outer periphery face 12 near one end of the tube 1. The annular recess defines a marked surface 20 radially from the outer periphery face to the inside and the marked surface contains a plurality of marks for identifying the property of a yarn wound on the support, including a colored band and a bar-code. The arrangement of the marks in the recess prevents the frictional wear of the identifying marks resulting from friction contact with a driving mechanism for rotating the support during winding, winding a yarn layer at the beginning of winding on the yarn support and handling the empty support. The marked surface contains yarn trapping means used for starting winding, such as hand trapping means for a notch surface, an antislipping coating or a hook.

The bobbin 21 may be rotated after introducing the POF to the slit 23 and retaining the tip of the POF on the extension line of the bobbin rotating axis. Although the POF is twisted when the bobbin 21 is rotated with the POF tip being fixed in the prescribed position, it can be resolved by properly weakening the force for retaining the POF tip. After the POF is wound on the winding start part a prescribed number of times and sufficiently fixed, the POF tip of is cut.
