摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method capable of uniformly shrinking a heat-shrinkable tube over the entire periphery thereof. SOLUTION: A curved surface-shaped feed passage 3 into which the heat- shrinkable tube set in an electric wire is to be sent, the heat ray radiation sources (halogen lamps 41, 42) provided on both sides of the feed passage 3 and the outer and inner belts 6, 7 allowing the heat-shrinkable tubes introduced into the feed passage 3 to run along the feed passage 3 are provided. By forming the feed passage into the curved surface shape, the heat-shrinkable tube is revolved and heat rays are applied to the entire surface of the heat-shrinkable tube to uniformly heat the tube.

SOLUTION: Opposed rollers 5, 5 are laterally provided in a pivotably supported manner so as to extend to the external side through through-holes 4 defined in the vicinity of lower portions of upward tapering slant faces 3 of right and left mandrels 2, and positioning rollers 7, 7 are laterally provided in a pivotably supported manner to right and left external fixing members 6, 6. Thus, each of the opposed roller 5, 5 and each of the positioning rollers 7, 7 are disposed in such a manner as to be rotatably contacted with each other with each descending belt V held between them. Further, driven rollers 8, 8 are laterally provided in a pivotably supported manner so as to extend to the external side through through-holes 4 defined at lower portions of the mandrels 2, and right and left driving rollers 9, 9 for allowing a tube 1 to descend are disposed in such a manner as to be rotatably contacted with the driven rollers 8, 8. Furthermore, all the rollers are made of a magnetic material, and each of these rollers is attracted by a magnetic force to each other together with the mandrels 2, 2 to be retained in their places, thereby pinchingly supporting each upper and lower part of the tube 1, respectively, in a descendable manner with the aid of the descending belt V, and preventing the position of each of the mandreles 2, 2 from being deviated due to the descent of the tube 1.

SOLUTION: A heat-shrinkable layer 4 is inserted between a support layer 3 and a compressible layer 2. And, the layer 4 may be inserted between a flexographic layer 1 and the layer 2 or between the layers 2 and 3 to constitute the sleeve. One or more heat-shrinkable layers 4 can be manufactured by a polyethylene-based material, polyvinyl chloride-based material, polyamide-based material or the like or the other polymer material having crystallinity lying between 10 and 60% in an effective temperature range. After the sleeve having a diameter larger than that of the cylinder is mounted at a predetermined position on the cylinder, it is heated. Then, the sleeve is shrunk so as to be retained on an outer periphery of the cylinder and simply and completely held.
