    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a retainer of a thrust roller bearing excellent in durability by securing a sufficient plate thickness in order to maintain strength of the retainer and a pertinent clearance between a roller and a roller retaining part. SOLUTION: A circular ring-like member is drawn (process b) by a blanking process from a coil material(process a) and a projected part is formed (process c) in the center of the circular ring-like member by press-working the circular ring upper member. By lifting both ends, the cross section is formed into a W shape (process d) and the inside and outside diameter of the retainer are finished to a predetermined size and shape (process e, f). Next, through the blanking process a plurality of pockets to accommodate rollers (process g) and a first roller contact part and a second roller contact part are formed on the wall surface of the pocket and a roller stop part is formed (process h) through a plane pressing process in the roller contact part.
